With a total area of 1400 m² the Materia Inspiration Centre offers a vast range of material samples selected from Materia’s independent material collection. On top of this, you can admire innovative materials in the selected partner showrooms, thematic exhibitions and the Materia Book Library.

Visit us on weekdays from 10 AM to 4 PM in Amsterdam (free of entrance, only registration needed) and get inspired!

Background
Our built environment is shaped by what people want, but even more by what people can. Every creation around us – from lamppost to building, from rubber boat to a child’s bicycle – is the result of the creative spirit in combination with the available techniques. And of course, the materials.

Never before were the technical possibilities so great and was the number of materials so diverse. Materia has been publishing the most inspiring of them already for years now on her website, and also organises national and international exhibitions with an impressive collection of material samples.

The time has arrived to make the knowledge of these samples and the samples themselves permanently accessible in Amsterdam, the Centre of the Netherlands in the Materia Inspiration Centre.
